About Us
The Beaufort-Delta Health and Social Services Authority (BDHSSA) encompasses the northern portion of the Northwest Territories, Canada. The BDHSSA is one of eight health authorities in the Territory and serves 8 communities: Aklavik, Fort McPherson, Inuvik, Paulatuk, Sachs Harbour, Tsiigehtchic, Tuktoyaktuk, and Ulukhaktok.
Services and programs are delivered through community clinics and the Inuvik Regional Hospital. The administrative centre for the Authority is also located in Inuvik, which is the largest of the region’s communities with a population of approximately 3,600 residents.
The Authority receives resources, leadership and direction from the Department of Health and Social Services in Yellowknife. The Department is accountable to the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Legislative Assembly.
